Aussie Meat Pie




Heat up the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 3 minutes or until soft.

Add the minced beef and cook for 4 minutes or until browned, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.

Mix cornstarch with a tablespoon of stock to form a paste. Add the remaining stock to the pan.

Add the sauces and vegemite to the pan and stir well. Bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 8 minutes or until it becomes thick. Cool.

Pre-heat the oven at 180°C. Grease a pie pan. Lay first a base and sides with the shortcrust pastry. Fill with the meat.

Brush the borders with water. Cover with the puff pastry. Press to seal. Trim, brush with the beaten egg.

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden. Serve.
