Belarussian Beef Stew



In a bowl, place the beef, garlic, salt and pepper, mix well together.

Heat 1 tbs oil in a large frying pan and fry the meat until browned all sides.

Heat in another frying pan 1 tbs oil, add the mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes stirring constantly.

Add salt and the minced onion to the mushrooms and cook for 1 minute more stirring constantly.

Put the beef in a ceramic pot (Harshok) (we used individual baking dishes)

Lay the cut potatoes over the beef salt and water enough for covering the potatoes.

Add the mushrooms. Top with the sour cream (we reserved some potatoes for covering the mushrooms).

Place on a previously pre-heated oven at 180°C and bake for 2 hours.

You can it directly from the pot or serve it on a plate.
