Cabbage Soup with Spicy Meatballs

In a mortar, add the chillies and pound to a paste.

Add the onions and pound them too. In a large bowl, place the ground beef and add to it the onion-chillies mixture.

Mix well together along with the seasonings and spices. Add the egg and mix until well blended.

Make from this meatballs around the size of a walnut. Deep fry them until golden brown. Set aside.

For the soup:

Beging by mashing the chillies in a mortar, then add the onions and pound them too.

Chop the tomatoes and pound them together with the onion-chilli mixture.

Heat oil in a wok, add the chilli mixture and fry until cooked. Add the cabbage and allow to fry for a few minutes.

Add the spices and seasonings. stir well.

Add the stock and enough water to cover the cabbage. Bring it to a boil and allow to simmer for 20 minutes.

Finally add the meatballs to the wok and simmer for 20 minutes more or until the meatballs start to float.

Serve hot with rice.
