Irish Soda Bread




Place all the dry ingredients in a alrge bowl, add softened butter, egg and buttermilk.

Mix together quickly, it won't look like bread with yeast. Instead it will look like biscuit dough.

Place the dough in a lightly floured surface and knead for 2-3 minutes or until the ball is fairly smooth.

Place the ball in a lined with baking paper baking tray. Cut a deep cross in the top with a sharp knife.

Bake on a previously pre-heated oven at 180°C for 35 minutes or until the top is well browned.

Cool before slicing.
