Add the oil to a pan and brown the meat on all sides. Add the onion, salt, pepper, thyme, garlic, parsley, cloves and chilli paste.

Fry for a few minutes or until the onion begins to soften, then add the passata and 250 ml water. Stir well to combine. Bring it to a simmer.

Meanwhile mix the peanut butter with 250 ml water and add to the pan. Bring to a simmer.

Allow to cook, covered for 1 hour or until the meat is tender and the sauce becomes thick.

Serve hot with rice.
