Pão de Ló




Pre-heat the oven at 180 ° C. Grease a spring form round 22cm  with butter and line the bottom with greased parchment paper also. Sprinkle with flour.

Sift flour baking powder and cornstarch.

Whisk the egg yolks with sugar and vanilla sugar until they are fluffy and white color (6 minutes at maximum speed).

Gradually add flour mixture and beat a little longer (3 minutes) until well combined.

Add to Amarguinha, vanilla and almond extract and beat until combined.

Whisk the egg whites until very firm.

Slowly and gently wrap the egg whites into batter. Wrap carefully until smooth.

Put the mixture into the previously prepared spring form and bake. When the cake starts to gain color, cover with aluminum foil.

When the cake is cooked (around 36 min).Test with a toothpick in the center of the cake, it must come clean out.

Remove from oven and cool slightly before removing the form.
